500 mg orange, film-coated, capsule-shaped tablet
Purpose
To reduce inflammation and reduce pain.
Indications
For anti-inflammatory action and pain relief
Dosage
For osteoarthritis, 500 to 700 mg daily is equal to six to ten 325 mg regular aspirin. For rheumatoid arthritis 1,000 mg daily has been shown to be as effective as twelve to fourteen 325 mg ( regular ) aspirin.
Side effects
This drug is generally well tolerated. Three to nine percent of people taking this drug may have some stomach pain or diarrhea. The frequency of gastrointestinal bleeding is probably similar to other drugs of this class.
Special hints
Dolobid is one of the newer nonsteroidal drugs. More studies are needed to determine its usefulness when compared to other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. at this time, it does not seem to have any particular advantages or disadvantages
