Contents:
Lorazepam
Indications:
Management of anxiety disorders
or anxiety associated with depressive symptoms; anxiety component in
psychotic states; pre-surgical medication; adjunct to antiemetic drugs for
nausea & vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy.
Dosage:
1 mg twice-three times daily.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity depressive
disorders; not for primary treatment of psychosis; pregnancy; children < 12
years.
Special Precautions:
Acute narrow-angle glaucoma;
impaired renal or hepatic function; transient anterograde amnesia or memory
impairment. Addiction-prone individuals; diminished tolerance for alcohol &
other central nervous system (CNS) depressants; may impair ability to drive
or operate machinery. Withdraw drug slowly. Potential for dependence with
regular use should be considered.
Adverse Reactions:
Sedation; dizziness, weakness,
disorientation; depression; change in appetite; headache; sleep disturbance;
agitation; dermatological symptoms, eye-function disturbance, hallucinations;
minor gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms autonomic manifestations. Paradoxical
reactions eg. stimulation & rage rarely occur.
Drug interactions:
Additive CNS depressants effects
with other CNS depressants including alcohol.

Tab 0.5 mg x 100's, 500's. 1 mg x
