Atrovent
Contents:
Ipratropium bromide.
Indications:
Chronic obstructive
bronchitis, bronchospasm during & after surgery, asthma. For assisted
respiratory in patients with bronchospasm intensive care & anaesthesiology.
To support aerosol therapy with antibiotics, secretomucolytics,
corticosteroids, salines or disod cromoglycate. For the bronchodilatation
test in lung function diagnosis before Atrovent therapy.
Dosage:
Aerosol
Adult 1-2 puff
three to four times daily. May repeat after 2 hour. Children 1
puff three to four times daily
Inhalation solution
Admin 3-5 times daily, at
interval of
≥ 2 hour.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to atropine-like
substances.
Special Precautions:
Narrow-angle glaucoma & prostatic
hypertrophy.
Adverse Reactions:
Dry mouth, throat irritation or
cough, mild reversible accomodation disorders if substance accidentally
enters eyes.
Drug interactions:
Action intensified by β-adrenergics
& xanthines.
