Contents:

Ibuprofen

 

Indications:

Children Symptoms relief of pain & fever associated with colds, flu, toothache, bronchitis & other bacterial & viral infection.

Adult Management of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis & other non-rheumatoid arthropathies.

 

Acute articular & periarticular conditions Capsulitis of the shoulder, bursitis, tendinitis, tenosynovitis, low-back pain, mild to moderate pain, dysmenorrhea, dental & post-operative pain.

 

Dosage:

Adult  Initially 1200 mg/day in divided doses. May be increased to 1600-2400 mg daily in divided doses. Max: 2400 mg daily.

 

Mild to moderate pain 400 mg 4-6 hourly. Max dosage in children weighing < 30 mg ( > 6 months ) 20 mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses. Up to 40 mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses may be given in cases of juvenile RA.

 

Contraindications:

Known hypersensitivity to Ibuprofen, aspirin or other NSAIDs; active gastrointestinal bleeding.

 

Special Precautions:

Patients with active or severe peptic ulceration; pregnancy.

 

Adverse Reactions:

Gastrointestinal disturbances, peptic ulceration, gatrointestinal bleeding. Others include headache, dizziness, nervousness; skin rash, pruritus, tinnitus, oedoma, depression, drowsiness, insomnia, blurred vision, hypersensitivity, impairment of renal function, thrombocytopenia.

 

Presentation/Packing:

Tab 200 mg x 100's, 500's. 400 mg x 100's, 250's.
