Dichlotride
Contents:
Hydrochlorothiazide
Dosage:
Hypertension
25 or 50 mg/day. Max: 100 mg/day.
Oedema
25-100 mg/day. Max: 200 mg/day.
Prementrual tension with
oedema
25-50 mg/day from 1st morning of
symptoms until onset of menses.
Children & infant
2.5 mg/kg body weight/day.
Children 2-12 years
Max: 37.5-100 mg/kg/day
Children 6-months - 2 years
Max: 12.5-37.5 mg/kg/day, < 6 months Max: 3.5 mg/kg/day.
Contraindications
Anuria; hypersensitivity. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions: Impaired
hepatic & renal function or progressive liver disease. May impair glucose
tolerance or precipitate hyperuricemia or gout. Increase in cholesterol &
triglycerides.
Adverse Reactions:
Electrolyte imbalance, Gastrointestinal disturbances, musculoskeletal &
Cardiovascular effects, rash & hypersensitivity.
Drug interactions: Affected
by alcohol, barbiturates, narcotics, antidiabetics, other antihypertensives,
corticosteroids, adrenocortical trophic hormone, pressor amines, skeletal
muscle relaxants, non-depolarizing drugs, NSAIDs, lithium.
