Nutriforte Fish Oil DSNutriforte Fish Oil DS

NUMEROUS clinical studies demonstrate how the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil supplements can help in a variety of health conditions including lowering of blood pressure and triglyceride levels.

People who have had a heart attack and subsequently treated with omega-3 have a lower risk of having further heart attacks.

There is also good evidence that omega-3 may play a role in relieving rheumatoid arthritis, depression, psoriasis and inflammatory bowel diseases.

Millions of people worldwide have taken fish oil supplements and obtained measurable, laboratory verified results that changed their health for the better.

How much fish oil should you take for beneficial effect ?

The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends that people with high triglycerides take a supplement with 2,000 to 4,000 mg of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids. For people with coronary heart disease, AHA recommends 1,000 mg of EPA and DHA daily.

For healthy adults with no history of coronary heart disease, AHA recommends eating fish at least twice a week, which is equivalent to approximately 500 mg of EPA and DHA daily.

Look out for the following when buying fish oil :-

> Potency

Choose fish oil with high strength or select one with double the strength of EPA + DHA. For instance, by taking a double-strength (DS) fish oil that contains 600 mg of EPA + DHA, you will only need to take half as many capsules per day compared to a standard formulation containing 300 mg of EPA + DHA.

You should also remember that the more EPA + DHA there are in each capsule, the less room there is for the "other oils" -- the remaining 700 mg that makes up a 1,000 mg softgel (for a standard fish oil containing 300 mg EPA + DHA). The lower the concentration of the "other oils", the lower the chances of side effects such as stomach problems, fishy burps or fishy-smelling breath.

> Purity

To ensure safety and effectiveness, choose a brand that has gone through purification through molecular distillation. This is the only process that can effectively remove heavy metals and other harmful toxins.

Most consumers do not know that fish oil is actually available in two forms triglycerides (TG) and ethyl ester (EE). Studies now confirm that fish oil in TG form has 70% higher absorption over EE form. Therefore, for superior absorption and efficacy, choose a fish oil that states "triglycerides" on the label.

Nutriforte Fish Oil DS, a fish oil supplement (triglyceride form) fully imported from New Zealand, contains double the Omega-3s 600 mg of highly purified EPA + DHA, which is twice the amount found in standard fish oils.
