DESCRIPTION
NICOL EYE
A sterile plain, clear solution containing Chloramphenicol 0.5% wv


INDICATIONS

NICOL EYE

Ophthalmic infections such as blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis and trachoma.

PROPERTIES

NICOL EYE

Chloramphenicol is a broad spectrum antibiotic which acts by interfering with bacterial protein synthesis. It has a rate of penetration into the non-inflammed eye superior to that of any other antibiotic


DOSAGE
EYE

1 to 2 drops every one or two hours, then subsequently at longer intervals.

SIDE EFFECTS

Local hypersensitivity reaction may occur.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Patients with prior history of hypersensitivity to Chloramphenicol and history of bone marrow depression.

 

PRECAUTIONS

Overgrowth of non susceptible organisms; prolonged use.

5 ml.

For Eye drops: Store between 2-8C

Protect from light.
