A sterile plain, clear solution containing Chloramphenicol 0.5% wv
Ophthalmic infections such as blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis and
Chloramphenicol is a broad spectrum antibiotic which acts by interfering
with bacterial protein synthesis. It has a rate of penetration into the non-inflammed
eye superior to that of any other antibiotic
1 to 2 drops every one or two hours, then subsequently at longer intervals.
Local hypersensitivity reaction may occur.
Patients with prior history of hypersensitivity to Chloramphenicol and
history of bone marrow depression.
Overgrowth of non susceptible organisms; prolonged use.
