Pharmaton

Composition

Each 7.5 ml of syrup contains:

Preservatives: potassium sorbate (E202), sodium benzoate (E211);

Sweetening agents: sorbitol, aspartame; other excipients q.s. to 7.5 ml

Properties

PHARMATON KIDDI CL Syrup contains vitamins, minerals and lysine. It serves primarily as a reconstituent for children and adolescents during the period of growth. Furthermore, it is also indicated in all ages during convalescence. A poorly balanced or deficient diet may not provide all the necessary vitamins and minerals which are required for children/ adolescents.

Thiamine (Vitamin B₁)

Helps the body to metabolize proteins, fats and carbohydrates

Calcium

Helps in the formation and maintenance of bones and teeth

D-Panthenol

Helps the body to metabolize fats and carbohydrates

Indications

As a dietary supplement.

Dosage and Administration

Children from 1 to 5 years:

7.5 ml per day.

School children, adolescents and adults:

10 ml per day.

The dosage of the syrup, in ml, is measured with the provided measuring cup. PHARMATON KIDDI CL Syrup should be taken before breakfast or lunch. It may also be diluted with water or mixed with food.

PHARMATON KIDDI CL Syrup has an orange taste, due to an orange flavour contained in the product.

Contraindications

PHARMATON KIDDI CL Syrup is contraindicated

  - in disturbances of calcium metabolism, such as hypercalcaemia and hypercalciuria

  - in case of hypervitaminosis D

  - in renal insufficiency

  - during therapy with vitamin D

  - in case of phenylketonuria

  - in case of known hypersensitivity to any ingredients of the compound.

Precautions

At the recommended doses, no other special warnings or precautions are necessary.

Inform your doctor, your pharmacist or your druggist if

  - you are suffering from other diseases,

  - you have allergies,

  - you take other drugs (including drugs you have bought by yourself !)

7.5 ml of PHARMATON KIDDI CL Syrup contain 1.3 g of sorbitol. Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance should not take this medicine.

Pregnancy and Lactation

According to general medical practice, the use of KIDDI PHARMATON CL Syrup by pregnant or lactating women should be decided by the prescribing physician.

Side-effects

There are no known side effects.

Interactions

Up to now no interactions with other drugs or foods are known.

Effects on ability to drive and use machines

PHARMATON KIDDI CL Syrup is specifically formulated for children/ adolescents. No effects on ability to drive and use machines are known.

Overdose

The toxicity of the product in large overdoses will be that of the liposoluble vitamin D. Prolonged daily intake of larger amounts (corresp. to 75 ml of this formulation) can cause symptoms of chronic toxicity such as vomiting, headache, drowsiness and diarrhoea. Acute symptoms are only seen at even higher doses.

Note

A yellow coloration of the urine after taking PHARMATON KIDDI CL Syrup is caused by the vitamin B₂ content (natural color of vitamin B₂). Such staining is absolutely harmless.

General notice

PHARMATON KIDDI CL Syrup may show a natural turbidity which is due to some of the excipients but this does not impair its efficacy. Shake well before use.

Storage conditions

Keep bottle tightly closed, in a dry place, below 25°C, out of the reach of children. The drug may be used only up to the expiry date indicated on the container.
