Tablet with 500 mg mebendazole (R 17 635)
Vermox is a synthetic benzimidazole derivative with a potent anthelmintic
activity against nematodes and cestodes. In man, Vermox is very effective
Taenia spp. (tapeworm).
Vermox 500 mg is especially suited for the mass treatment of ascariasis,
trichuriasis, ancylostomiasis, enterobiasis and mixed infections.
In patients living in heavily
endemic areas the regular treatment with vermox 500 mg (3-4 times a year)
will substantially reduce the overall wormload and keep it well below the
level of clinical significance.
The dosage is : one tablet of Vermox 500 mg, once.
The same dosage applies to
children as well as adults.
The treatment requires neither
diet nor laxatives.
Vermox is exceptionally well tolerated by the patients.
Even though no teratogenic effects have been observed in human with the use
of Vermox during pregnancy, possible risks should be weighted against the
benefits, before this drug is administered during pregnancy.
