Diabetic with spoiled kidneys and sleeplessness
Question : I am a diabetic patient, and doctors have found out that my
kidneys are spoiled. I often suffer from sleeplessness, called insomnia. Can
I take sleeping tablets ?
Answer : You may want to consult your regular doctor on this
issue. My interpretation of the situation will be as follows : If you took
sleeping pills, you will sleep deeply. If you get urinal pressure, you will
not realise it, and your bladder will hold your urine for some time. When
much more urine accumulates in the bladder, it will then get out of the body
in the form of sweat ( hyperhidrosis ). During this process, your lungs can
gather plenty of the liquid, leading to the development of 'water in the
lungs' ( pulmonary oedema ). If this happens, this can create breathing
difficulties, giving you cough initially, then even death in acute cases,
for want of oxygen. Therefore, I am of the opinion that it may not be
advisable for people with kidney problems to take sleeping pills.
