The Chinese angelica is related to our European angelica and has comparable
antispasmodic properties but with important additions. As well as relaxing
cramps and tension, its warming properties also clear congestion and improve
circulation and its nutritive tonifying properties actually improve the
quality of the blood. This makes it invaluable for women as it both eases
symptoms of the monthly cycle ad rebuilds the blood in its aftermath.
However, it is not only for women. Dong quai benefits anyone who needs to
strengthen the quality and circulation of blood- those with anaemia or
symptoms of tiredness -- or suffer from cramping pains and tension. It is
