Drosera
rotundifolia

This insect-catching plant is
used in its entirety by herbalists to relieve bronchial spasm, for example
in asthma. Homeopaths give it for coughs and sore throats.
This small plant is
insectivorous, catching its prey on the sticky secretions produced by
glandular hairs on its leaves. Found throughout the world in damp, acid,
boggy places, it is a perennial with orb-shaped leaves and a complete
covering of red hairs. Small white flowers appear throughout the summer and
autumn.

ACTIONS
Expectorant; reduces muscle
tension and spasm; antimicrobial.
MEDICINAL USE
Given to relieve bronchial spasm
in asthmatics, whooping cough and bronchitis, and also for stomach ulcers.
