SEAHORSE
Powdered whole seahorses are used
in Chinese medicine as a general tonic, and for kidney problems. Alcoholic
extractions are given to stimulate hormones.
The young of these beautiful fish are initially reared inside the male,
who incubates eggs deposited there by the female. Different species occur in different
parts of the world. Seahorse is a common ingredient in Chinese tonic mixtures.
