Lachesis mucus

BUSHMASTER SURUCUCU SNAKE

The venom of this snake is given homeopathically for headaches, palpitations, epilepsy, appendicitis, sore throats, boils, and period pains, particularly if the symptoms are on the left side of the body.

The rattle of this species of the rattlesnake family is outstandingly loud. At up to 3 m (9 ft) long, it is one of the most alarming snakes of Central and South America. Apart from the employment of its venom to make an antidote for its bite, it is used medicinally by homeopaths, who consider it a remedy ideally suited to patients with leftsided symptoms.
