Garcinia cambogia contains Hydroxycitric acid (HCA) which is reported to reduce fat generation in the body and also suppresses absorption of fat from food intake and hence reduce body weight. Several studies in humans have provided supportive evidence for the efficacy of HCA in weight loss with no side effects. Garcinia limits the synthesis of fatty acids in the muscles and liver.

Some of the herbs known for their effectiveness in slimming are Garcinia cambogia, Trigonella foenum graecum, Gymnema sylvestre and Commiphora wightii.

What is most effective is to cut your food intake by, say 40%; drink no fewer than eight glasses of water a day and to do some form of exercise at least five days a week. A brisk walk is something most people are able to stick to on a daily basis.
